Planned Giving

Do you love animals and want to continue to support the SPCA Baccalieu Trail?

Consider being a monthly donor….

Or consider planned giving.

Planned Giving means you create a charitable gift now that goes to the organization you love in the future, usually when you pass.  A gift from your estate lets you make the gift of a lifetime to a cause you believe in.  All donations help – no matter the size.

Thank you for thinking about the future and a legacy donation to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA.

When you include a gift to the SPCA Baccalieu Trail in your estate plans, you are helping hundreds of animals in desperate need of shelter, care and compassion. Your legacy will help us provide the necessities of life along with rehabilitation and finally a fur-ever home for these animals.  We will work with the local communities to promote responsible pet ownership and encourage the spaying and neutering of companion animals.

There are many ways to make a legacy gift to our SPCA.  You can also chat with your financial planner or lawyer.

Bequest:

Residual Bequest Language:

A residual bequest comes to us after your estate expenses and specific bequests are paid:

I give and devise to The Baccalieu Trail SPCA Inc., located on Gullies Road, Spaniard’s Bay, in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, all (or state a percentage) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific fund or program).

Specific Bequest Language:

Naming the Baccalieu Trail SPCA as a beneficiary of a specific amount from your estate is easy:

I give and devise to The Baccalieu Trail SPCA Inc., located in Spaniard’s Bay, in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, the sum of $___________ to be used for its general support to be used for its general support (or for the support of a specific fund or program).

Life Insurance Donation:

Life insurance can be an effective way to help your favourite charity achieve their long-term goals.

You can leave a lasting legacy by designating the Baccalieu Trail SPCA Inc. as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. In some circumstances you can receive tax receipts for annual premium payments. Please speak with your estate planner and accountant to determine the best way to structure your life insurance policy to maximize the tax benefits.

Gifts of Stocks or Securities:

A gift of publicly traded securities, stocks or mutual funds is another way to leave a legacy gift to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA Inc. These types of gifts can offset the taxes on capital gains, while your estate receives a tax receipt for the donation.
